We understand your concerns about food allergies, and want to tell you what we do to make sure our labels are clear, and how they will help you make decisions about which products are good choices for you and your family.
We recommend checking the package every time because ingredients may change. This could mean that older formulations of the products may be on shelves at the same time as newer ones, which means they may have different ingredients. For those who have allergies, this is crucial in making sure the product you're choosing is a safe choice.
Our brands will show all of the major food allergens on the ingredient list, and/or they will be noted in a "Contains" statement just after the ingredient list. This also applies if the top allergens are used in our flavorings and spice mixes. The major food allergens are: Eggs, Fish, Milk, Peanut, Shellfish (Crustacean), Soy, Tree Nuts and Wheat.
We segregate allergen and non-allergen ingredients in our facilities. A “Contains” statement will always be listed below the ingredient list if the product contains any of the top allergens. A “May Contains” statement will be rarely used due to our strong manufacturing processes. We complete thorough cleaning when changing from allergen-containing to non-allergen-containing products. After cleaning, we conduct inspections to verify that it has been effective.
